Hi,

Is it possible to read and write data to the transceiver through the rear accessory port on a TK-8180 (DB-25)? I use the KPG-89D program.

I was told to use pins 2(TX) 3(RX) and pin 11(ground) on DB-25 - Radio
pins 2(TX) 3(RX) and pin 5(ground) on DB-9 - PC

Thanks for help.

I've never heard of it. The only cable Kenwood supplies for programming tje TK-7180/8180 is the KPG-46, which has an RJ-45 connector that goes into the radio's mic port on the control head.

No. :)

The DB-25 on the rear of the radio has accessory connections which include serial data, but it's for accessories only and cannot be used for programming.

The rear connector on the radio is not wired the same as an RS-232 serial cable (which is wired the way you describe).
