Tk-2102 confusion...

Everything I have read indicates a kenwood tk-2102 is a two channel radio. Yet I am holding in my hand a kenwood TK-2102(A)-1 that has (what appears to be) four channel settings. The dial clickes in four positions and it has 1..4 on the top.

What software version is used to program this if it is a four channel radio? I have KPG55D now and that is only showing two.

Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks,

2102

HAVE YOU TRIED TO JUST READ FROM THE RADIO AND SEE WHAT IT SAYS?

No, mainly for the simple reason I need a cable.

The question I am asking is why does the hardware support four channels?
Is there a special software load (that I don't have) that supports four channels? Did I land up with two hack job radio's?
Thanks,

I called a radio shop on friday, apparently I can get a firmware update to make these have 16 channel capacity. I pulled the channel knob up a bit and the dial has the capacity for 16.
