Is that supposed to run on Windows? If it's DOS then don't use a DOS window within Windows. You need to boot to DOS, like DOS v6.22. Go to
http://www.bootdisk.com and d/l the DOS bootdisk image. Then create a bootable floppy, copy over the program to the DOS boot disk, boot from that, then run the program from that. However, if it IS meant to run on Windows then you may need to use XP, 98, etc...

I think it might be a software related problem...
I can read and write from one and it is has the serial 11003397 the one that I can't read/write has the serial 33903946 so it is a newer radio...
Im not sure where to find the version but "Kpg56d_v2" does this helt?
Kind regards
Mark

There should be a help section/link of some kind towards the top.....? Under that there may be a "General Help" or "About Kpg56" or something like that that might tell you the version of the s/w you have.

Is the s/w supposed to run under DOS or Windows? If it's DOS then you should boot into DOS, NOT Windows's DOS, and run the program.

V 1.00 is ancient. If you can read and write to a very early serial number but not a later one, it's probably a software limitation. I don't know what the latest DOS revision is, but it's well over 2.0 (and might even be up to 3.0).
There is also a windows version available which has been out for a couple of years now. I'm pretty sure if you bought the latest revision, it would solve your problems. The Windows version is much easier to deal with IMHO.

KPG56d Ver 3.20 (DOS) was released in 2001 so anything earlier than 3 is ancient. As I recall, there were problems with V2 and I don't recall ever seeing a V1.
Ver 4.x is Windows.

You should be able to find a newer version easily on the Web. I Googled "KPG56d" and found something right away.
