I'm having some issues trying to program my VX2500. On trying to read from the radio it comes up with the following error, "HARDWARE CONFIGURATION MISMATCHED!" I have changed com ports though this did nothing. I'm using Windows XP, not sure if this would be the problem?

I've never used Yaesu programming, but is this a computer error message or a radio error message? Based on my experience with Kenwood programming it may be you don't have the radio properly set in the program. it may be looking for a VX-4000 and finding a VX-2500.
First thing I'd do is review my set up in the software to make sure everything was as it is supposed to be.

Its a computer error message. I'm using the correct program for my radio... I'm starting to thing the problem might be with the cable.

Are you using the correct software? There are several versions for VX2500's. Is yours a 128 channel conventional or a 250 channel LTR?

I get that with the program for the VX2100/2200. I click OK, and it will still program. Vertex tek support did not have an asnwer on that one, but every radio works fine after.
