Trouble with TK-790 and Pyramid SVR-200 repeater

I am using a TK-790(H) with a vhf in-band Pyramid vehicular repeater. I have both filters(notch & band) as specified by Pyramid. I had a radio tech configure the two on the bench....good so far......Well, when you transmit on the Kenwwod mobile handset, and the repeater is connected, an alternator whine is heard with the voice transmission. When the repeater is disconnected, it is gone. Not to mention a horrible whine is sent when using the repeater itself. The repeater is powered by the 790's accessory port. When the vehicle is not running, everything is just great. So far I have the tech saying talk to the alternator company. Pyramid says talk to the tech. I just wanted to bounce it off of somebody here. Any ideas? I was told that too many ground points could be bad as far as the repeater goes..?
Ideas?
Thanks,

I have some experience with the SVR products. Are you ignition sensing it off the 790 or is it power completely? Sounds like maybe a ground loop in there is picking up noise. Possibling split the power to the B+ bus instead of the 790?

How is your antenna and frequency spacing?

8) HELLO- O.K. IS THEIR NOISE WHEN TXING ON THE MOBILE ? ALSO IS THE VOLTAGE AND GROUND LEAD'S FOR RADIO RAN ALL THE WAY TO THE BATTERY? YOUR BATTERY IS YOUR FILTER!--ALSO YOUR DIODE'S IN THE ALTERNATOR ARE LEAKY, LEAST IT SOUND'S THAT WAY---IT MIGHT BEHOVE YOU TO TRY THE SIMPLE THING'S FIRST, THE COSTLY THING'S LAST--MISER

Tell the tech to read the svr manuel! It specifically mentions this problem, and has a cure.
