TK8180 Moto Mic?

Well I've been having trouble with my 8180 mic only keying up when it wants too 
, I opened it and it appears a capacitor went poof. So I was wondering if anyone has gotten a motorola mic to work with this radio, preferable through a switch so I would only need one mic. If anyone has any details on using a moto mic with the 8180 please get back to me. Thanks
