TK730(G) / TK830(G) / KRK-4DB Issues

I have a TK730(G) / TK830(G) / KRK-4DB setup that I just upgraded to 160 channels. It was initially setup with a 160ch head and 32ch radios. I upgraded the radio chips (thought they were pulled from another radio - Would this be a problem?) and removed R156s, now it's only reading it as a single band VHF and isn't even seeing the UHF radio. If I switch back to the 24C04 chips I just get mismatch errors when trying to read. I've tried switching 24c16s between radios and no luck there either. Any ideas?

Have you tried writing the radio first? You may need to write a new file, tell the radio it's supposed to be a dual band and go from there.

Well, some idiot forgot to save a data file before upgrading the radio. I was hoping by putting the old chips back in that I could do that but no dice. Anybody have one to share? :)

Just generate one from scratch. It's not that hard to do. The KPG7 software clears all the data anyway when you change the head or drawer configuration.

WELL that didn't work... At first... Because I forgot that you could select single / dual head / band under the Model menu... Oops... Anybody have a dunce cap I can borrow?

No dunce caps required unless you do the same mistake multiple times!! Hope you got everything working.

Worked great... I think. Still have to actually test it though!

That's half the fun, learning by doing.
Glad you got it sorted out.
