California Highway Patrol S-825

Post by kd6kml »

I was wondering how the CHP control head is programmed. The reason I ask is that I know how to program the standard model for use on my Delta or Rangr. I use the PC, RIB, and the cable that plugs into the DIP header. I think the CHP is different because the software I have for them is in my suitcase programmer. How is the connection from the head to the suitcase made? With my recent sucess making a RANGR go on 6 meters, and the rumors that the CHP is going to downgrade their mobiles to Kenwoods, there migh be a bunch of good stuff available.

Thanks,
Josh

P.S. This board is great!

PM me I have the info on CHP heads. I have the Software to program them as well as the programming cable. They are a totally different head then the s-825 and s830. The S-810 is the CHP System head and the S-815 is the Scan head (AKA Motorcycle Head) The programming cable plugs into the back of the head on both the plugs that the control cable plugs into as well as the Mic connector, The Software uses a Hexidecimal code to program and download, you will need a TQ3310 or 3370 programmer RIB to use the Software. If you have the suitcase programmer you will need the the cable for it.

Can I get a copy of that software, too?
The serial bus on my Orion is working for it's money.
