According to this chart on Hall: http://www.hallelectronics.com/getech/pk4.htm

It should be an 806-870mhz EDACS Analog MRK II

Don't know if that's what you're looking for...

ok I re-read Halle's site and you right I missed the info!

and yes that's what I'm looking for

Got and M-PA now, would like an LPE but an M-RK is one of their best radios and pretty rare.

I've got a couple MRK II Scan models (UHF and VHF). If you can use them, there's no reason to get rid of 'em. I don't think they're as good as MPA's (as I also have two of them) performance wise, but they're still an excellent radio.

Good luck with the MRK.

MRK 800

Definitely keep the MRK over an LPE... The LPEs' are not that great. MPA is definitely the best, but MRKs are good performers.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm... I'd rather have my EDACS LPE over my MPA anyday. Yes, the MPA is ruggedly built (great for use as a weapon, a jackstand or a wheel chock) but it can loose the control channel if you are standing 100 feet from the tower. I was very happy to get my LPE & put an end to that annoying "boop-boop-boop" NC bonk!

LPE

Sounds like you had a issue with the radio. Cause in side by side, well there is no side by side in our case ... we returned the LPEs .. they where breaking and locking up... Could have been a bad batch. But the MRKs have had no problems.. Only other agency that has some LPEs in quantity that I have seen , is Coral Gables and I have seen some popping up in the other EDACS systems in South Florida and the Power company has them on 900MHZ ( Their comments couldn't be printed). Lots of radios not working and long repair /replacement delays
The State went to EDACS and they are using Jaguars. I really have never seen much input on the LPEs so its interesting to see what other people think.
I have used the MRK in UHF and VHF trunking on bases and on ships and its a great radio. Next time I have a chance to buy a 800 LPE I will so I can trade it for an MRK.

Our agency had hundreds of them (still have some in utility use). Much better system reliability since the switch to the LPEs. Our "NC bonk" issues with the MPAs may have been solely from the fact that we have a simulcast system here (24 channels @ 7 tower sites).

Our FD exclusively uses the MRK here but are going to the Jaguars soon.
