Ge Mastr Exec II HELP

Hi
I have 2 ge mastr exec II radio one a base station and the other a mobile.
My base station has a frequency range of 150-174 and my mobile has a freq range of 36-42.
My question is I want to make my mobile recieve and transmitt the same freq as my base. Can I use my base freq crystal in my mobile and retune my radio to work or do I have to replace the boards?
Also dose any one have any low band ham freq for sale.
Any help would be appreicated.

I'm sorry to say, but going from the freq ranges that you say you have is going to take a lot more than just "replacing boards". The front end tuning is totally different, so you'd have to replace that section as well.
My advice: Go to a 'fest and get the right radio to match what you want and try to trade/sell the one you don't want.
