Does anyone know how much a keyloader is for an lpe-200 for des encryption. Does anyone have any experience with these units? (ease of use etc..)
I want to program a couple lpe200 for encryption in simplex mode.
Thanks in advance

Re: lpe-200 keyloader info
I have experience with the AEGIS keyloader at work. I'm sure everything is identical to the DES version. I am going to say it is easy enough to operate, though I have not had to use one for a year or two. Just a particular keypad sequence & you're done...carbineone wrote:Does anyone know how much a keyloader is for an lpe-200 for des encryption. Does anyone have any experience with these units? I am not experienced in constructing keys, just loading them. I do not know what that part involves. I checked to see if I had access to the user manual, but I don't (I'll dig some more if you want me to).
All I really have for you are some helpful part numbers that can be found here: http://www.hallelectronics.com/getech/ck1.htm
I have heard that they can be found on eBay for the $400-500 range. Kinda pricey if you just want to play

Key Loader
You are looking for a V4030 Keyloader for DES (FS-1027) ... Preferably you want one that was either updated or built after 1998. Newer ones will say MA-COM on them, rather than GE. They run between $400 -$500 used as posted above.... and the cable you need fits the MRK- LPE series units. New they are running in the $1,500 to 1,900 range.
I had one for sale on here before for a friend, and at $350 with manual.. he had no takers.. put it on EBAY and it sold for $600 ( go figure) . I know he has one or two more, because we where playing with MRKs and MPAs using them.. let me know.. I can always see if he is ready to unload another one. As to ease of use.... the unit looks like a calculator and by following the easy prompts ... you enter a sequence of numbers and the save them to a key store position. Then attach radio select key to download and hit execute button. As long as same key is loaded into the radios, your on your way. There are more complicated operations available, multi-key, slave and master modes etc.. but the basics are easily mastered in 10 minutes
