Kenwood TK-880 programming info

Post by LincolnMan »

I have a TK-880 that I purchased on the internet, now I dont know too much about kenwood radios since our fleet of radios currently consists of Motorola mobiles and GE MPA portables, This TK-880 I have is used, I read that these radios have a password protecting the programming information from being read. does this also prevent it from being written to? What do I do if there is a password on the radio? is there a way to reset the radio and clear all the programming?

The password feature prevents someone from "reading" the info in the radio.

If the radio has a password all that you have to do is generate your frequency information and program it into the radio.
