Stupid M-PA hamflash question

Post by WC4RAV »

Picked up a hamflashed M-PA VHF from a Batboard member. I love the radio and no doubt the best of all my portables (blows away any M stuff I have had, yes, even the coveted Saber analogs IMO).

When an M-PA is hamflashed, can you still read/write to it with M-PA RSS? (I have neither) I know, my idle curiosity is killing me...

I know it is old news to those on this board, but I really appreciate the quality in this radio. I wish I would have gotten into GE sooner (probabbly could have saved bigtime $$$ too compared to what I have spent with ma M)

The hamflashed radio will no longer program via software. Hamflash also negates use of DCG (DPL for you M fans)- and reduces the number of available channels to 48. If I remember correctly. Hamflash also uses a single set of values for RF alignment, unlike the standard MPA. I had one for a short while and went back to the standard MPA for my own use.
