Hi Lou
I must appoligise I had the later model on my mind ie:the TK-35X series.
My tk-349 I run the program in from a dos prompt and read and write.
What computer and interface are you using? The software should be KPG20D.
I am using the standard portie Kenwood programming cable and the com port 1.
When you read or write it will display PROG in the screen.
You do not need to "place it into programming mode , the program from the computer will do that for you.
Let me know and perhaps you need to set your parameters up correctly in the program first.
Regards
Brad
