I'm having some trouble reading a TK840. I put the radio into Program mode (power-up and hold sys-down) but it will just not communicate. The radio does have a CSI tone-remote box connected to the rear which I'm beginning to think is the problem (and needs to be disconnected to read the radio). Comm port settings are correct. Am using the software in DOS 6.22.
Am I missing a step somewhere? My gear works fine for TK880s.

I had tried it without and no change. It does show "PROGRAM" when you try the power-up method I mentioned
. I've also checked Pin 1 to make sure it was sending out 12~V, and it is. I'd figure that's what gets turned off if you snip that resistor ka7wnf mentioned.
If I get it to work I'll post the resolution.
