This problem is plaguing me and I can't seem to get a viable solution
from the dealer so I'm reaching out to you folks now. When I put a
noise cancelling microphone (the brown one with the switch on the
back) onto our TK-630 mobiles, the TX audio is very low compared to
the normal microphone. We had the dealer "modify" the n/c microphone
to eliminate parallel audio (vehicle repeater) and to bypass the noise
cancelling. This did eliminate the parallel audio but I still have
very low audio. Here's what I found when opened the mic:
There are two mic elements. The one on the top appears to be the
normal element while the one on the bottom appears to be for noise
cancelling. It was re-wired to use only the top mic element. This
still produced low audio. I reversed it so it used the lower mic
element and it didn't change anything. The double-pole switch for PTT
has the mic audio going through one side and the PTT wire on the other
side which I would assume is how they eliminated parallel audio.
How can I fix this audio problem so I have normal audio? The regular
mic will not work due to the parallel audio issue. I need to use the
noise cancelling microphone but the low audio is a major problem.
I thought maybe the vehicle repeater was screwing with it but unplugging the repeater from the radio makes a negligable difference.
Thanks,
Matt
