Kenwood APCO P-25 800 mHz transceiver vehicle adapter

Post by Jim1348 »

It is possible that I will be issued a Kenwood APCO P-25 800 mHz portable transceiver in the future. Does Kenwood make a drop in charger amplifier for these?

I didn't know they made a P25 in 800. Will it work on Motorola smartnet?

I found some info. It's a TK-5400. google it and there is some good info. doesn't look like a vehicular adapter is an option.

There is a vehicular charger adapter available: Part # KVC-4 This allows the KSC-24 charger to be installed in a vehicle and plugged into the "aux-power" outlet.

No provision for RF power or audio amplification.

There is a vehicle adapter for the 90 series portables. It will work fine with the TK-5400. It will not amplify but will give you all the other usual features.
