So,
Just got an MDX 800 up and running; works fine on Oakland.
1)With info from RR, BART doesn't work. Is their info wrong or does the system need a newer radio?
2) I see greyed-out reference to APCO25. Is it capable with an upgrade?
3) Further, (at least until they reband) can I use a Rangr/820 or an FMD
to listen to same?
Thanks!
MDX/Bay Area/EDACS questions...
I don't see anything immediately wrong with the RR info, but that's all I have to go on for BART.
The P25 references in ProGrammer only function with the P7100/M7100; those are the only P25 capable MACOM radios.
As far as I know, an FMD or a Rangr should work as well as any other EDACS radio on the pre-rebanding frequencies, although the systems I'm familiar use the 810/855 split rather than the 820/865 split.
What happens when you try to listen to BART? Do you get any errors, or just silence? I'd try programming a conventional system with BART's receive frequencies; that way you could at least verify that you can hear them in conventional and you could at least verify that the frequencies are correct. You should be able to hear the control channel at least.
