Can someone tell me how to put the Jaguar 700P into the programming mode? I tried holding the two side buttons in while turning on the radio and I get a message saying the radio could not initialize.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks

Jaguar 700P Prgramming Mode?
The 7100IP requires that you hold in the two side buttons AND the PTT button while turning the radio on. The display has all the pixels lit up, and then you should be able to program it. I believe the 700P is the same way.
Sometimes it will just give you all the pixels darkened, and sometimes it will actually say "PROGRAM." (I have no idea why).
You need another finger :0)

Re-&00P Programming Mode.
When i press the 2 side buttons and the PTT, turn on the radio and for a split second i see all the pixels come up and let go of the buttons. The radio says key hold error 0890 or it would say test mode and jump to system 1. This thing is bugging me out.
The ProGrammer help files have this to say about the 700P:
1. Start with the radio turned OFF.
2. Put the radio in programming mode. Press and hold the OPTION button, the CLEAR/MONITOR button and the PTT button simultaneously. Turn the radio ON.
3. Release the buttons. If the radio entered the programming mode correctly the display will be blank.
The key hold error occurs when the radio doesn't go into program mode but it senses one of the keys being held down upon powerup.
About the only thing I can think of is that one of the keys is jammed or sticky and is not actually closing. Sometimes you have to hold down the keys pretty hard. You also have to keep them held down for a few seconds; if you let up too soon, it won't go into program but will sense one of the keys being held.
Try turning the radio on with only one of the keys held down; do each one in succession, and if they are all working, you should get key-hold errors for each of the monitor, PTT, and option buttons. If not, one of the keys is no good and would certainly explain why the radio isn't going into program mode. It's like the CTRL-ALT-DEL reboot...it needs all three held at once, or the microprocessor won't recognize it as a command.
Also, try doing the 3-key thing with the programming cable disconnected and if that doesn't work, do it again with it connected. I've had various radios that would only go into program with the cable on, and others (like the 500m) that won't go into program unless the cable is disconnected.

Re-700P Programming Mode.
Thank you for all your help. I tried everything with this radio and could not get it into program mode. I sent the radio back to the company and let them fix it.I tried another 700P and the program mode work fine with no problems.
