TK-931 Time-out Timer

Has anyone ever figured-out how to disable the transmit time-out timer (TOT) on a TK-931. The timer can be set from 30 seconds to 5 minutes using programming software, but not disabled. I have been using 931s in amateur repeater service for about a year. There are some linked applications where the TOT really gets in the way. I can think of some kludgy external ways of handling this, but I was wondering if anyone found a way within the 931 to allow constant transmit.
