Tk-790 Power on

Post by steved »

Greetings,
Is there a power on option that will allow a TK-790 to come on when the ignition is turned on in the vehicle? I am using the KPG-44D software.

Thanks,

According to the service manual you'll need the ignition sense cable (KCT-18) and perform a hardware mod in order to activate this feature.

save your self some money, buy a .062 12 pin molex plug, w/ male pins, 10 feet of 20 awg , make the same thing as a KCT-18 but for 15 bucks less. then set it up in the software. I do this when ever i am installing a used radio, or one that doesnt come with the KCT-18. plus now you hav the plug and pins for the external speaker, or whatever else you want to use there. jim

OTH, how would you mod a 90 back to conventional power? I'm assuming there's a jumper inside that needs to be moved. Anyone know what this is?
