HOW TO PROGRAM THE G.E ERICSSON M-RK II

hey guys im sorrie im new to this ive programed (radio shack) PRO-95's Before but im new to this... i currently have the g.e ericsson m-rk 2 .. and i have no idea how to program it , i finally got the Operator's manual.. but i still dont know how to program it.. i live in miami florida and the metro dade police department uses the same radio i have..i also have there frequencies on EDACS (http://www.bellscb.com/cb_radio_hobby/s ... _codes.htm)

CAN ANY ONE JUST HELP ME PROGRAM IT THANKS:)...

It will require the Programming Software... and either the ribless cable or the rib box and cable... If you have never dealt with this radio before it is not the easiest to program on trunking systems and can also be turned into a brick quite readily. There are radio shops in the area but its highly unlikely one of those will program it.
Also what model and firmware is your radio. The model number is on the back and the firmware is listed in the radio menu . There are quite of few of these that are conventional 800MHZ only floating around and it will neeed to be flash/upgraded.

Price Industries has the cable. The software can be had from M/A Com for a pretty penny, but can also be found on the net if you look hard enough...

Before you do any programming, make sure to make backup copies of all files in the radio...

okie thanks i got the place where to get the cable now all i need is the software...??? whats it called and where can i find it...also...i wanted to know if there is any local store that will do that for me...? and is it ilegal to listen to the police??? since u have a PTT....???

The software is called Windows Programmer. I think it costs $2000.00 or something crazy like that. You can find it, but you have to really look.

Legallity depends on your states own laws. You can program the radio not to TX easily, so the PTT is not an issue.

You are going to have a real hard time finding someone to program it for you.

EDACS3 is DOS based.

EDACS4 is Windows AKA "Programmer".

EDACS3 is going to be easier to find than EDACS4...
