TK 730 programming help
I have one of the 'Canandian' TK 730's currently popular on eBay right now. Supposedly these are narrowband compliant ( I have been able to program in other narrowband freq.) but I cant get it to accept 158.985. I have programmed all other frequencies I need, both above and below this one and have re-programmed the PF keys to my needs. I have tried using both SP Tune and SP Tune W/N on a 133mhz Pentium laptop. This is the only problem I'm having with programming this particular radio. Any ideas?
Hi guys,
NodrogCop's comment about the continuous tone caught my attention. Are the frequencies you're having trouble with by any chance at the edge of your programming band? By that I mean is the frequency in question the highest or lowest of the lot being programmed?
Perhaps that one frequency falls out of the tuning range of your particular radio? I know when I program stuff into my 30 series radios that are beyond the tuning range of the VCO I, too, get a continuous tone when I select that channel on the radio. Perhaps a re-tune of the RF section of your radios is in order?
Just a two-cent hypothesis...

I also have one of those Canadian radios. It was brand new still packed in the boxes and plastic wrap. Those are the low band split models, 136-156Mhz. Mine won't do over 158 either and that's just the way those are.
