Hi all --
I went to add a few new channels to my UHF MRK, and now the radio is stuck.
When I went to read the radio to save what was in there, it came back as "Programmed by a newer version..." No problem, I thought. The dealer put a new channel knob and parts in and probably blew the personality back in with newer s/w.
GE's are backward compatible. I then went to load the same personality from my computer (I'm using ProGrammer/EDACS4). About 3/4 of the way through, it beeped an error message: Problem programming radio. I looked at the radio and it displayed ERS ERR.
Turned it off, back on, and tried again. Now the s/w says "Invalid Radio ID" when I either try to read or write.
I've programmed several of my M-RK dozens of times with the set up - I clowned around with my VHF, so it's not the hardware.
Lastly - The radio flashes PERSDATA on top line and ERR=0500 on bottom line. I'm assuming this is because there's no personality in the radio.
ANY help or suggestions? I'd like to have this radio back ASAP; I use it to monitor the local college security to help us PD folk out with calls.
Gordon
