Tell me, please, why I cannot convince a 700P to scan conventional channels with CG enabled. ie, RX CG is working when not scanning, but once scanning, any signal will break squelch on any scanned channel.
My settings that I have checked and rechecked are:
Options>Scan Options> Scan with Channel Guard (YES)
Options>Scan Options> Conv Pri Scan With CG (YES)
STE on all CG channels.
RX CG is a valid value.
Any hints?
Thanks,
Mark
Scanning with CG - 700P
I looked through Programmer including my MRK settings and can't find anything different from yours.
The only thing that registers right now is that the CG is somehow disabled on all the channels. As in after you hold in the monitor button, the CG is disabled...
I'll keep poking around and see if I can find something else. Ken, any thoughts??

Thank you for checking. It looks like I have found the cause, although that does not mean I am pleased.NodrogCop wrote:I looked through Programmer including my MRK settings and can't find anything different from yours.
It seems that when a Conventional System is set to a non-analog Vocoder (ProVoice, Aegis) any channels are scanned without CG; yet CG is used when not scanning. This is true regardless of the "Voice Mode" of any particular channel in a set.
To me, this seems like a bug. Perhaps a fix is available in newer firmware. Then again, perhaps there is a reason behind this.
