How do I do this?!?

Post by jcpd9720 »

I am the recent proud new owner of a Cimarron Technologies, C-Mark II decoder box. I want to hook it up to a GE M-PA via a convertacom. Can anyone provide step by step detailed instructions on how this is possible? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Lee

what is that? I am still fairly new to all this... the reason I am interested in using the convertacom is that I could make it mobile.

For a decoder to work properly, audio should be direct from the receiver discriminator circuit, ahead of the squelch, volume control and audio amplifier circuits.

Some radios have "discriminator" audio available at an accessory connector, usually called "flat" or "data" audio out. If not, it is necessary to modify the radio to provide an internal connection to the receiver discriminator circuit.

At MetroSafe, the 911 emergency communications network of Louisville, we have two levels of communicators. a Communications Specialist I is for the lack of better terms, a call taker. They simply answer 911 calls, as well as non-emergency calls, and send them, via two different CAD systems, to the dispatchers.... Communications Specialist II is for the lack of better terms, a dispatcher. We primarily dispatch, but can also take calls. In addition to that, a good majority of us, including myself, are shift trainers, and a smaller handful, about 3 per shift, are acting supervisors. That also includes me.
