I have a TK340D that will not go into PC program mode. The backlight on the display does not work either. Are there any know failure modes that would cause this? The radio transmits and receives just fine. There appears to be no breaks in the flex cables inside the radio.
I was curious if a loss of the 4V power supply would cause this? That appears to be tied into the function keys. Is that power supply known to go bad?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

I wonder if it's been modified for field programmability. This may somehow be the cause(?) so read this: http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:x2 ... =clnk&cd=4

thank you for the reply. But the link to which you refer is a 50 series. the 40 series radio does not need the mod to which the link refers. Also, making any KW radio field programable does not limit or delete the ability to PC program.
The radio in question will, in fact, not go into field pgm mode either. I am curious if anyone knows of this to be a common problem
Regards
