I have been trying to program some key selections on my tk-830. Some work fine and two just turn the back light off and on. I have even tried changing there location and still the same result. anyone have any ideas?

I called kenwood and they were no help. I can not get the squelch and the home channel to work. Also can you adjust the power on the tk-830?

Here is the part number:
27C256Q-JPWJ
It's like 35 bucks, but it will make the squelch option work.
The power adjust is an internal pot.

Very easy, unplug old IC,and plug in new IC(be sure to roll IC on it's sides to align pins first)
