Hi everyone,
I have a TK-272G that is used for simplex ops with a DPL of 445n. The radio will transmit the DPL with no problem but when another TK-272G or any other radio transmits this radio will not decode the DPL and thus will not open the carrier. This also seems to be an intermittent problem. Any thoughts?

Don't you just love intermittent problems? I wish it would just break and stay broke. I don't have a clue, but anytime I get an intermittent problem with an HT it usually involves the antenna. Is it possible the antenna or connection has a problem and it isn't getting enough signal?
I don't know much about 2-way radios but I'm over 50 and can't remember not having one around. Everything from Buddy and Citi-fone to Icom and Kenwood.

intermittent problems are great! lol 
I have tried swapping out antennas, and even took the radio apart to make sure the base was making contact with the boards underneath. I'm all out of ideas...
