By the model number and by looking at the RX front end.
N3A113 VHF 136 to 153 wide band 40 watt, N3GG2W040TB
N3A114 VHF 150 to 174 wide band 40 watt, N3HH2W040TB
N3A117 VHF 150 to 174 wide band 110 watt, N3HH2W110TB
N3A133 UHF 403 to 423 wide band 50 watt, N3RR2W050TB
N3A139 UHF 410 to 430 wide band 50 watt, N3SS2W050TB
N3A134 UHF 450 to 470 wide band 40 watt, N3UU3W040TB
N3A137 UHF 450 to 470 wideband 100 watt, N3UU2W100TB
On the narrow band Delta S units, there are large screw type adjustments for the receiver front end. The section runs almost down the muddle of the radio right next to the PA starting from the front of the radio and going to the VCO section of the radio. The narrow band ( SX ) version has no adjustment visible. Just a plate over the same area.
Hope this helps.
