My county just went to EDACS. I have a few prog questions. I have the EDACS 1,2,3 software, will these program an EDACS MP-A? Does the EDACS software allow for RX only, TX inhibit? Lastly, does the ver of software matter like in Motorola RSS where once the radio is programmed with a higher software you cant go back to an older ver? Thanks for the help..

No versions do not matter like it does with Motorola. What does matter is If you use the windows based (EDACS4) PROgrammer you will not be able to read the radio with DOS, unless you overwrite the existing personality with DOS, then it will read again using EDACS3
in other words you can't read the personality out of a radio programmed with windows when using the dos software.
Any EDACS radio setup properly will passively monitor an EDACS system just like a scanner. Its a really nice feature.
